July 29, 2026 came and went with just a couple surprises, but mostly what I expected - a resultant nothing burger where Fauci walked out of the room a free(ish) man. I really wanted handcuffs waiting for this face of public health. I wanted it to be more like a legal deposition where he was sufficiently compelled to answer the questions - even about the color of the carpeting.
First, I was surprised that he even appeared at the Dirksen building. I was 50% in the camp of ‘he’ll squirm out last minute through some technicality’ (e.g., the subpeana wasn’t properly served). My other 50% bet was that he’d plead the 5th Amendment (my emphasis added).
Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
We got the latter - with a bonus of a non-Fifth opening speech that his lawyers probably should have advised against.
Overall, I felt schadenfreude (look it up) while watching Fauci dance in front of the senators, but knew deep down that nothing much would come of the circus. I’m just thankful for Senators Paul, Johnson, Hawley and their colleagues who expressed the frustration of so many people across the world through their many questioning angles and added evidence to the record.

Here are more of the thoughts I had while I watched ‘Dr.’ Anthony Fauci being questioned by Rand Paul and members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs. Some thoughts are a bit unadultered.
Why do the democrats keep threatening us with another pandemic?
Someone wants to continue gain-of-function testing - see Coffee & Covid 7-29)
The Dems are putting their reputation further at stake by backing this guy.
The Dems spoke glowingly about Tony and thanked the former head of the NIAID (and world public health).
Pleading the 5th, while also sporting a Presidential pardon = GUILTY!, so the court of public opinion is further dragging down Democrat-affiliated candidates in the mid-terms.
Why have Democrats attached themselves to this man - and his civic rights-infringing public health policies?
Answer: Public health policies, especially in the areas of vaccines and gain-of-function ‘bioweapon research’ with infectious diseases, are totalitarian and communistic at their root. Therefore, Democrats and Public Health Officials are communists.
The hearing was just a platform for both the Left and Right complaints to be aired.
This is my blackpill (nothing will happen) rationalization.
Airing both sides can lead to better mental health - Health Freedom/CHD members have Fauci Derangement Syndrome (me) and want him, Birx, Collins and many others behind bars or, at the very least, publicly excoriated; while on the other side, the 15% highly vaxxed/masked folks can’t afford to be wrong and lift Fauci up as a messiah (thank you sir for the shots - may I have another).
Fauci likes 2 masks and two legal protections
SCOTUS will need to weigh in on autopen and preemptive pardons, and abuse of the 5th Amendment.
Conspiracy Theory of the Day: Fauci - and most everyone in the hearing room (Rand Paul, Rs and Ds) are protecting their higher masters.
By singularly focusing on locking up Fauci, the power brokers are making us look the other way.
Who are the higher masters? CIA, DoD, DoE. (See expose’ on Birx from 2023) And yes, there might be an elite cabal pulling strings, but I have less provable facts on that.
Anyone with knowledge of secret and top secret programs swear, under penalty of treason, not to divulge details. Therefore, the depth and breadth of the bioweapon industry is protected. Every one of those Senators who’ve been read into a program or three cannot speak details, and in most cases cannot even acknowledge the existence of said program.
Therefore, the just-released, lame gain-of-function policy that actually allows lots pretty much anything if a new committee says it’s not potentially dangerous. Nor does the new HHS policy control private industry from making frankenviruses - if viruses even exist.
And Finally:
Just answer one fucking question!
The Highwire Episode 487 on the next day and post-hearing analysis do not touch on the above points, except the final thought.
What am I going to do with my observations and theory? I’m not a power broker. I’m just neobob. I’m going to keep bringing up these points in discussion comments in all the high-powered Substacks and news articles to shift the dialog in search of the actual truth and away from the theater.

It’s good to hear your unvarnished opinion, Bob!
Keep posting your observations. We need sane voices.
